Description
Take a look at the Gammu project: http://www.gammu.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
An OpenSync? plugin for the Gammu libraries would open OpenSync? to a very wide range of mobile devices.
Take a look at Wammu for an example of an application which uses the Gammu libraries to retrieve PIM data from cell phones.

I agree with you that a gammu plugin is necessary. Of course there already is a gnokii-plugin but gnokii does not support my phone - gammu does... For now I use a little bash script to sync gammu with KDE-PIM with opensync (KDEPIM2file -> file2gammu :)

Is somebody already working on a opensync-gammu plugin?
I might want to start on it or join a team by using the python-gammu bindings. But I am not yet into opensync, nor gammu. But seeing the desperate need for it and bringing in some python experience.

I do, but with the C libraries of gammu, no python. Is this post still of anyone's interest? Have there been any efforts towards a gammu plugin? Please contact me to discuss the gammu plugin.
