Description

In the Windows world performing a HotSync? of a Palm device does both a sync, and a backup of the entire device.

In the OpenSync? world, you have to perform a sync, then use some other application to perform the backup, probably from the commandline. It would be nice if at least some of the plugins provided backup support as well.

file-sync isn't sufficient, as it can only copy contacts/tasks/calendar/memos.

To get this working for palm device, this would require some enhancement in the palm-sync plugin. At least the palm-sync have to get/send all the pdb with object type "data" (e.g. pilot-xfer -p bt: -l).

Core features does not work yet, repriorizaing this kind of enhancements as many devices have their own procedures to make backups.
